Emmaus- Encountering the risen Lord in a new and profound way.

I imagine this to have a lot of the Upper Room feel - but less informal - we don’t   want to scare people off.

Opening remarks, prayer, “Call to worship” - Read the Emmaus story

    (Luke 24: 13-35 - brief lectio divina)

    • Begin the Music ~30 minutes of music

    • Exposition (O come to the altar)

    -quiet music during adoration

-Worthy of It All | Worship Moment

    • Intercessory prayer (very informal- people from home can comment their intentions or email them in ahead of time- EmmausCTK@gmail.com and they will be included. People present in the church are invited to speak their intentions aloud.

    • Benediction/Reposition (Down in Adoration Falling)

    • Final Remarks, Closing Prayer

    • Closing song- something exciting though prayerful.

    Rooted in Faith,

    Opening Wide Our Hearts

On Wednesday, May 12 at 7:00 PM, the Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford will continue their virtual conference series with a 60 minute webinar "Native Peoples of America & The Catholic Church"

    Our presenters are:

Sister Mary Dostal, a Montana native, has worked tirelessly with the poor and marginalized. Currently, she directs the ministries of Angela's Piazza in Billings, Montana. Angela’s Piazza is a “drop-in center” for Native American women, living in poverty. The center serves more than 600 women a year. Apart from meeting immediate needs with food and clothes, Angela’s Piazza offers several empowerment and companionship programs to Native American women, including mentorship for young women and a 12-step program.

Jennifer Black Bear is the Director of Religious Education for St. Francis Mission on the Rosebud Reservation in the Diocese of Rapid City, South Dakota. Her greatest hope and dream for all the young people there is for them to learn more about God and Jesus. She wants them to be able to learn and practice the faith. “It’ll inspire them to go on to be better people. They’ll want to go on to school; they’ll want to go on and do better for their community and for our people. I’m hoping we’re making a difference by teaching them.”

The Webinar is free and open to the public.

Advanced registration is required. Click below to register.
