For our three evenings of Advent reflection, Sister Maryann Cantlon will present the following:

—the Infancy Narratives
—the Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 1:1-20;  7:10-17; 8:23-9:6; 11:1-9; 40:1-11; 60:1-20 )
—the Reconciliation of the Penitent Woman.

In all three topics, we will be looking at the theology and spirituality that underlie them and how these passages can be a source of strength and nourishment in our own lives of faith.

Sister Maryann Cantlon is a Sister of St. Joseph of Chambery, an international congregation, whose Provincial Office for North America is located in Hartford, CT. Maryann has served in different ministries over the years: teaching in high school and in prisons as well as training prison volunteers and giving workshops in Sacred Scripture and Restorative Justice.  She is presently on the staff of the Retreat Team at Holy Family Monastery in West Hartford, CT.

Maryann holds a Master’s degree in Music from the Hartt College of Music of the University of Hartford and a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, CA with a concentration in Sacred Scripture.
